Sailors called it 'dry
point' (suha punta) due to its long-lasting droughty weather. Its
inhabitants call it Primošten ('bridged-over').
It
is situated on an island which was 'bridged-over' by its inhabitants
five centuries ago to facilitate the control of their fields on the
mainland. Primošten, surrounded by seven little islands, is an especial
gift of nature to which nobody stays indifferent. What nature itself has
not offered, diligent people have created by themselves making thus
Primošten one of the most attractive destinations on the Adriatic coast.
Stone houses, churches, and narrow 'kale' (lanes) represent a
perfect harmony between the past and the present.
Primošten was developed from a little
fishing village into a tourist paradise in that part of the Adriatic. It
is difficult for anyone to resist the charm that this little town
radiates. Narrow streets of the Mediterranean atmosphere invite you to
feel, at least for a moment, the warmth of this surrounding and these
people.
The 'Zora' Hotel is
situated in the immediate proximity of the town, it the most beautiful
part of the coast bordered by a pine forest. The most beautiful beach
embodies the entire peninsula followed by a promenade through pine
forest. The nature has granted at one side a rocky and, on the other
side, a beautiful pebbly shore.
