Biography

Lucija Fiket was born on April 15, 1994 in Zagreb, Croatia. After graduating from Tituš Brezovački High School, she enrolled at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Zagreb (FKIT) in 2013 to study for a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Materials Engineering. In the academic year 2017/2018, she received the Rector's Award for her individual scientific work entitled "Preparation of Advanced Functional Filaments for 3D Printing of Microreactors" In September 2018, she defended her bachelor’s thesis entitled "Optimizing the operation of extruders for the production of filaments" at FKIT. She was awarded the Dean’s Award for Socially Beneficial Work in the Academic and Wider Community for the organisation of the 1st Student Congress on Materials Engineering (e-SKIM 2019). In July 2020, she received her Master’s degree at FKIT in Chemistry and Materials Engineering with a thesis on "Production of microreactors by additive manufacturing technology" In October 2020, she enrolled in the postgraduate doctoral programme in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at FKIT. From October 2020 to June 2024, she worked as a research assistant on the project "Molecular Tailoring of Stretchable and Self-Healing Conductive Polymers for Wearable Electronics" Since June 2024 she is employed as an assistant in the Department of Polymer Engineering and Organic Chemical Technology at FKIT. Her teaching activities mainly include material characterization, polymer processing and polymer-based materials. She is actively participates in the performance of laboratory exercises for all courses in the department: Materials Characterization, Polymers and polymerization processes, Polymeric Packaging Materials, Characterization and Identification of products, Recycling and waste management, Polymer science and technology. She is also a mentor (Laboratory for Chemical Engineering, Laboratory for Environmental Engineering, Laboratory for Materials Engineering) and supervises Bachelor's and Master's theses. She has completed two research stays at the University of Auckland, Faculty of Science, in New Zealand, which lasted a total of six months. She also spent two months at the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour (UPPA) in France. She is the author of four scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
